Sophia Center Workshop Leaders

Joseph Amormino a former Roman Catholic Priest, spent eleven years in a monastery which included two years of philosophy and four years of theology.

All his life he has been fascinated by geometry. His interest in astrology has prompted him to delve into new facets of study which now include the relationship between astrology and sacred geometry. In Santa Fe, he has conducted workshops in sacred geometry and has built a labyrinth on the Sophia Center's grounds. He has put together a video program for children in which the Geometry Man joins in with children to show them the beauty and harmony in all form of nature.

At the present time, Joseph is busy working on his autobiography which he plans on publishing in 2007.

Atma Devi studied astrology with Jeffrey Wolf Green. Using Evolutionary Astrology as a base, she continues to augment her methods through hands on experience and research. Her approach is focused upon the individual and their Soul's intention for the current life. Included are the areas in our life where we are limiting ourselves and what the psychological/emotional dynamics are there, based upon karmic issues over lifetimes. This is helpful in that it provides a larger framework through which to understand ourselves.

She is a member of the Santa Fe Astrology Forum, The Sophia Center and The Organization for Professional Astrologers.

Her weekly astrology column Earth and Sky, can be found at www.santafe.com.

Kenneth Johnson is the author of numerous books and magazine articles.

His best-known work, Mythic Astrology, has recently been reprinted by Llewellyn Publications, along with its companion volume, Mythic Astrology Applied: Personal Healing through the Planets (both co-authored with Arielle Guttman).

Ken has also written Mansions of the Moon: The Lost Zodiac of the Goddess, a study of the nakshatras of Hindu astrology, and was the co-author of the long-running "Jyotish Currents" column in The Mountain Astrologer.

Stephen McFadden is a board member for the Sophia Center of Santa Fe, and has been a practicing astrologer for over 25 years, as well as a journalist and a Reiki Healer. He is a dynamic and effective teacher.

For over 30 years, Leslie Nathanson has been in private practice, integrating astrology, spiritual principles and psychotherapy in her work with individuals, couples and groups. A graduate director of the Psychodrama Institute of Boston, Board and Faculty Member of The Sophia Center of Santa Fe, and Adjunct Faculty Member of the Counseling Program at New Mexico Highlands University, Leslie particularly loves the magic and inspiration of the shared creative process of the group.

Leslie practices what she calls “Heart-Centered Astrology,” developed out of more than thirty years of interweaving astrological charts, psychotherapy, spiritual practice and metaphysical studies into her work with clients. For Leslie, the symbols of the chart, an ever-evolving map of the psyche, offer a dynamic key to understanding destiny and soul-purpose; blessings, strengths and choices; challenges and life lessons; family dynamics and interpersonal relationships, and a way to living in a greater harmony and deeper peace with oneself, the world and the flow of Life Itself.
